An architect who has built on bedrock, reading what AI dreams.

In 1990 a single CG perspective took me a week. I spent the 1990s at Itsuko Hasegawa's studio, then designed about a hundred houses of my own, many of them on cliffs, slopes and odd-shaped plots that house builders had turned down. In 2024 I stopped taking commissions. Now an AI draws a building in thirty seconds, and I read what it draws as an architect.

1990年、CGパース1枚に1週間かけていました。長谷川逸子・建築計画工房を経て独立し、ハウスメーカーが敬遠した崖地や斜面、変形敷地を中心に約100件の住宅を設計してきました。2024年8月に設計の受注を終え、現在はAIが描く建築を、建築士の目で読んでいます。

  1. Born Akita, Japan / 秋田県秋田市生まれ
  2. 1990 Graduated, Department of Architecture, Tohoku Institute of Technology / 東北工業大学建築学科卒業
  3. 1990–1998 Itsuko Hasegawa Atelier. Worked on the Niigata City Performing Arts Center, the Himi Seaside Botanical Garden and urban landscape projects / 長谷川逸子・建築計画工房。新潟市民芸術文化センター、氷見市海浜植物園、景観整備事業などを担当
  4. 1998–2000 Self-study in Kyoto around Daitokuji: shrines, temples and World Heritage sites / 京都・大徳寺近辺を拠点に、神社仏閣と歴史的世界遺産を独学
  5. 1999 Founded my own practice. Released free floor-plan software, downloaded 100,000 times and used in schools / 建築設計事務所設立。間取り作成ソフトを無料配布し、延べ10万ダウンロード、学校教材にも
  6. 2000 Launched the building-materials site JackonLine as web master / 建材サイト JackonLine の立ち上げ
  7. 2001–2018 About 100 houses designed: cliffs, slopes, narrow and odd-shaped plots, concrete and solid-timber houses / 住宅設計 約100件
